Blessed by a child

It's not very often that we sit and think of how children have changed us for the better. But tonight as we just celebrated our dear son's 7th birthday I think of all the ways I have changed and grown thanks to him.

I have learned to live through the eyes of a child, even if only for a moment.
I have learned that tears are here for us to cherish. One day you will wish they would just let go and cry. So right now just let it flow.
God gave him to me to help me return home to heaven. Without him I would never have humbled enough to get in.
Children are beautiful when they are laughing, crying, sleeping, eating, singing, making noise, making a mess, and yes, even when they are melting down.
All he learns in this world comes from me so I'd better be good.
Kind words really do work better than yelling! Who would have know.
Love runs deeper than the words can explain.
When he smiles some kind of sweet fairy dust escapes his lips making it hard to be angry at him.
He is just a boy. He will only be a boy one time. So if he wants to carry a doll for eternity it's okay. Because it's always sweet and tender to me.
Even hard times can be nice.

Looking back at the past I hope to carve a greater future. One where we will play, have fun, laugh and live together so that when the judgment day arrives we can say we are ready to be an eternal family.

Thank you Brokton for making me me.

I love you
Mama
