USS James E Williams

On May 30th 2008, I had the wonderful opportunity of riding on the USS James E Williams; from York town VA to Norfolk VA. I was invited to go by my neighbor Troy Loyd, Troy is an officer aboard this ship. I had an amazing time, I got a full tour of the ship. While aboard the ship we tried on some of the fire fighting gear that is used in an emergency. While on our cruise we saw a demonstration of the big 5 inch deck gun. Taking this trip really made me want to go on a cruise. While we were out we came across a submarine & a Naval cruiser out there was out to sea.

Below are Some of the other things we saw & did while on our way. We got a chance to see how they play electronic war Games with other ships, as well as how they would handle things if they fell under attack. It was very windy out on the deck, they took the ship up to full speed @ 35 knots. We got the chance to meet some of the teams that work anti pirating & drug trafficking. This group boards ship to check cargo & make sure that everyone on board is supposed to be there.

Little things matter

This afternoon after a hard time for Brokton I took him in my arms, kissed him, and told him I love him. He broke down and started to cry. I cried with him and asked "why are you crying I love you". He said "Sometimes it doesn't feel like you do." So I kissed him some more and assured him that I do. Then I brought him to the blog and read him the post I made about him. When I was done I kissed him more and he cried again I said "Why are you crying?" He said "because you Love me!" We hugged and he went on his merry way.

It just shows that you never know how words you have written when shared at the right moment can touch a soul.

Blessed by a child

It's not very often that we sit and think of how children have changed us for the better. But tonight as we just celebrated our dear son's 7th birthday I think of all the ways I have changed and grown thanks to him.

I have learned to live through the eyes of a child, even if only for a moment.
I have learned that tears are here for us to cherish. One day you will wish they would just let go and cry. So right now just let it flow.
God gave him to me to help me return home to heaven. Without him I would never have humbled enough to get in.
Children are beautiful when they are laughing, crying, sleeping, eating, singing, making noise, making a mess, and yes, even when they are melting down.
All he learns in this world comes from me so I'd better be good.
Kind words really do work better than yelling! Who would have know.
Love runs deeper than the words can explain.
When he smiles some kind of sweet fairy dust escapes his lips making it hard to be angry at him.
He is just a boy. He will only be a boy one time. So if he wants to carry a doll for eternity it's okay. Because it's always sweet and tender to me.
Even hard times can be nice.

Looking back at the past I hope to carve a greater future. One where we will play, have fun, laugh and live together so that when the judgment day arrives we can say we are ready to be an eternal family.

Thank you Brokton for making me me.

I love you
Mama

We have been having all sorts of fun. Steven took a week off so Chantelle could go see Josette in Fl. We also took a weekend trip NO KIDS to Williamsburg. That was lots of fun. Here is a fun slide show. Some old pics some new but a lot of fun!
